A year-old male officer is under investigation relating to allegations that he recorded them, in a state of undressfor more than a year, and distributed the videos, according the Navy Times. The videos are believed to show three female officers. A spokesperson for the Submarine Group said the Navy would hold the responsible individuals accountable if the allegations, which came to light last month were proved to be fact.

The explicit photos, shared on a secret Facebook page which has since been taken down, reportedly showed female Marines and other women in various states of undress. The new regulations from the Department of the Navy, which includes the Navy and the Marine Corps, come more than a month after Marine veteran Thomas Brennan, who runs the nonprofit news organization The War Horsefirst reported a Marines nude photo-sharing group to Marine Corps officials and wrote about the scandal for The Center for Investigative Reporting. Subsequent reports found that similar groups involving other branches of the military were operating on other private message boards. The revision signed by Acting Navy Secretary Sean Stackley is considered an interim change until a new copy of Navy regulations is printed.
